Light
Visual comfort
Visual comfort is a crucial factor in our wellbeing at home or at work. Lighting combines with the aesthetic qualities of the surroundings to affect our mood. Perforated Gyptone tiles have a light reflection of 70-75 per cent, and high point loads up to 3 kg, giving great flexibility when working with additional lighting.
Gyptone ceilings open up all kinds of opportunities for designing the perfect lighting solution for the project in question. Light sources function as key design elements and simultaneously help to ensure effective interaction between the aesthetics, acoustics and lighting.
Natural versus artificial light
Our eyes are designed for natural light. But natural light can be unpredictable and difficult to control, so high-quality artificial lighting and light-reflecting surfaces can make a substantial contribution to visual comfort.
Altering the lighting can change the entire ambience in a room, so it is essential to think carefully about which lights to use – and where to place them. Gyptone tiles reflect light and make it easy to install artificial lighting.
60% - 80%
Most standards recommend ceiling light reflectance values of 60-80 per cent. The light reflection provided by Gyptone ceiling solutions means you’ll need less artificial lighting and enjoy lower energy use.
Gloss and light reflection
The pre-painted products have gloss value 5-9 according to ISO 2813, with a light reflection on approx. 70 % with standard paint finish.
