Functional building with three stages

Located in the centre of Szczecin, the Pleciuga Puppet Theatre currently operates in its new premises, a large, functional building with three stages (a large stage, a chamber hall and a rehearsal room), as well as educational facilities and a conference room. There is also a café, a multimedia fountain and a green square.

Ensuring acoustic comfort while meeting fire requirements and the durability of solutions, which are important factors in public buildings, were the main challenges faced by designers and RIGIPS representatives.

To ensure high acoustic properties in terms of sound absorption, GYPTONE BIG panels were used on the main stage. As the height of the space is more than 10 m, the contractor used special doubled CW profiles, developed to be used as wall cladding for walls made of acoustic panels.

In order to ensure the durability of the solution, the designer envisaged cladding made with wood-based panels in the lower part and the acoustic systems started from a height of more than 1.5 m, which further necessitated the development of a customised solution.
