Quick and easy access to installations

The new district hospital in Turku, Finland, is a huge project that brings together a range of health care functions. Architect Mikael Paatela wanted wall and ceiling materials that were durable, simple to maintain and had good acoustic properties.

Paatela uses Gyptone products in his own offices, so he was already familiar with their qualities. That’s why he chose Gyproc and Gyptone solutions for the walls and ceilings, with Gyptone products ultimately covering 19,000m2.

Hospital walls were clad with Gyproc GN and GEK boards and Gyptone BIG Quattro 41 boards. Quattro 41 boards were also used on the high walls of an open restaurant, and in the passages between the different parts of the hospital.

Ceilings in offices and operating rooms were mounted with Gyptone Quattro 20 E15, while Gyptone TRAP Quattro 20 tiles are now prominent in the corridors because of their aesthetic and acoustic qualities in open, large areas. The TRAP solution also enables the opening of ceilings for maintenance, without leaving any grids hanging.

Gyptone BIG Quattro 41

Gyptone BIG Quattro 41 is a perforated plasterboard with square perforation that, together with acoustic backing tissue, provides good acoustic properties. The boards are made with tapered edges on all sides.
