New ceiling, measuring reverberation time
This project involved the management of sound in a large 77 m2 room in Grue school in Norway. One wall of the room is designed as a folding wall. When this is folded back, the room and adjacent space combine to form a large auditorium. The ceiling was mounted with Gyptone Tile Sixto 60 with edge A.
“Based on the calculated volume in the auditorium of 290 m³, a reverberation time of between 0.6 and 0.7 seconds is recommended. The measurement results show that the tested rooms meet these recommendations. Measurement of speech intelligibility shows a mean STI value of 0.79 in the auditorium, which is excellent.”
