Acoustic specifications
New Building Regulation and specifications
The new Building Regulation, BR08 came into effect February 1, 2008, but a transitional period applies until August 1, 2008.
Like in previous regulations, the conditions for sound and acoustics are combined in one chapter, more precisely chapter 6.4: “Acoustical indoor climate”.
The Building Regulation refers to a special specification from The Danish Building Research Institute (SBi) 218 about sound conditions in classrooms and day care centre buildings.
It contains regulations for the reverberation time or the absorption area for a number of different types of rooms.
The specification defines these regulations and also provides a number of recommendations about sound conditions in classrooms and day care centre buildings.
